Clinton Surrenders Big Innings To Lose in Burlington
Burlington, IA - The Clinton LumberKings (3-5) surrendered seven in the fifth to lose 10-4 to the Burlington Bees (4-4) at Community Field June 3.
The Lumberkings faced an early 2-0 deficit and took a lead in the fourth on a three run, four hit rally.
Isaac Sobiezczyk (Missouri Western State) snared a double into left field after a Burlington fielding error to make it 2-1.
Sutton Lewis (UMSL) drove an RBI single with out one to tie the game.
Jackson Mishler (Black Hawk) stayed hot with a two-strike, two-out RBI single down the right field line. It was his fourth hit in the last two games and gave Clinton the lead.
The Bees scored seven times in the fifth, with both teams exchanging runs in the sixth. Jaylen Ziegler (Iowa) had an RBI single in the inning.
Jai Jensen (University of Southern Indiana) got his start and allowed two runs on three hits in the firsts He retired his next twelve batters to finish with four innings with three strikeouts and two earned runs.
Miller Tavaglione (Allen County CC) tossed three innings to finish the game with no earned runs. The lefty struck out four
Nick Hartje (Upper Iowa) got the loss. Ty Mikkelsen registered the win.
