Clinton Lumber Kings

Johnstown, PA - The Clinton LumberKings (11-4, 25-14) fell to the Johnstown Mill Rats (7-7, 22-18) 16-3 at Sargent's Stadium July 18.

The game was originally part of a double header, meaning it was a seven inning contest.

 It was ended due to the 10-run rule after five innings.

The game featured an over hour long delay after the top of the second inning. 

Clinton jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning and a half.

Kale Jensen (Missouri Western State) drove in two runs on a two-out single in the first inning. It made the game 2-0.

In the second, Tanner Short (Houston Christian) blasted his first home run of the season over the left field fence. 

After Johnstown answered with a solo shot in the second and picked up a broken-bat single, the game was called into a weather delay due to rain and lightning. 

Once the game was resumed, the Mill Rats scored four more runs in the second to make it 5-3. The team followed with seven more in the third and a two-out grand slam in the fifth to "walk it off". 

Connor O'Neil got the win and Jai Jensen (USI) received the loss. 

Game two of the double header was cancelled due to weather. 

Johnstown has July 19 off, before travelling to Champion City (8-5, 21-19) Monday, July 20th.

Clinton closes it out its "East Trip" Sunday, July 19 at the Chillicothe Paints (10-6,22-19)
